ANATOMY:
Even if you're going to make only stylized dolls, you should understand that without knowledges about anatomy, you won't get good results. Even very strange dolls have proportions. Really, it's not so difficult to understand, you just need to find good easily understood materials and practice on sculpture putty(photo).
Sculpture putty is very cheap material for training, you can find different sorts of it: hard or soft. You won't spend lots of money for training and you can use this material many times.
We decided not to make special theme about anatomy cos there are lots of good material in the Internet. For example, Gottfried Bammes Anatomy. You also can find good examples on Pinterest. I want to recommend you to registrate here and make boards for your work:"anatomy", "what inspires me" and others. This resourse is really useful, cos you can save picture into your board from anywhere. Also look at "topology" head/body(example), it will help you to understand the principal of body construction.
